rodic has mark from the cobrasnake easily beat in the quality over quantity department. though mark's sheer amount of images will probably never be rivaled, one must sift through each album to find the best photos of the bunch. this is not the case for rodic's work: every image is unique and lust-worthy, which makes checking his blog a veritable process instead of a mere way to pass time.

the sophomore s/s 2010 lookbook could not have been released at a better time - with its diluted hues, simplistic everyday scenes, and linear coverage of dusk 'til dawn, the album makes me yearn for summer even more than the cobrasnake's oft-featured trips to australia (and in all honesty, those make me crave summer a lot).

not to mention, the shots are reminiscent of california (though i'm not sure if they were actually taken there), adding fuel to the fire of my obsession with the west coast.

oh, and the fact that i'm off to cali in 6 DAYS !! - that's right, it's warm weather and bikinis for me as i spend a prolonged weekend in the golden state before embarking on a cruise to the mexican riviera.

perfectly coinciding with yesterday's post about girly styles making a much-needed return, i stumbled upon h&m's new garden collection on nitrolicious. pretty pastels, floral prints & flirty necklines: anything a girl could ask for.

as hangovers subdue and party dresses are stored away once more, the new year leaves us a few days between full-out partying and back-to-reality to really contemplate the changes that may soon occur. resolutions, for one thing, dance around in our minds, giving us the ever-satisfying sensation that anything we want to do can be done, if we dedicate ourselves to it. but furthermore, the line between 2009 and 2010 draws an end to styles we've seen floating down runways for seasons on end, styles that lived long and healthy lives amongst trends that proved to be more ephemeral. the futuristic 'art-deco' look saw revivals season after season, as different fashion houses attempted their interpretation of the trend. the rebirth of leggings is a concrete example of the continuous recycling that occurred throughout the past decade (think shoulder pads, boho fringes, tie-dye, high waisted anything, fur coats, denim on denim, and acid wash). though innovative in some aspects, we mostly chose to revamp previous styles that had peaked in the '70s or '80s.

as of late, the tough-chic look (previously seen in the '80s) is what consumers are going gaga for. leather, studs, bustiers, ripped denim, thigh-high boots, smeared eye makeup, biker jackets, dark nail lacquer, mini dresses, and torn sweaters, all items that could be adorning junkies or strippers, are given an haute-couture edge with minimal tweaking and acceptance from the general public. photos of celebrities like taylor momsen in fishnet stockings and holey band tees that reflect her inner badass chick are proof that the trend is still going strong.

and this is where 2010 comes in. while the biker chick look is sure to stick around for some time, some more playful, innocent looks are sure to see the light in the upcoming year. think lolita and baby-dolls, as sweet replaces sexy and the little gamine in all of us has her time to shine.

prada adorned pretty babydoll frocks with a mismash of patterns that pleased the eye in a youthful sort of way. the girls looked as though they had just woken up with their matted pigtails and silky separates, but were still ready to tackle the day ahead of them.

stella mccartney embraced the whimsical shapes of dolls with her elaborate ruffles highlighted by narrow waists. she also introduced a renewed simplicity with sheer white blouses and washed denim that capture the nonchalant, airy vibe of a young girl with her innocence still intact.

shiny baubles and ornate add-ons are always after-thoughts for me - only once i've left the house and begun my day will i realize that a chunky bangle or several gaudi rings would have come in handy to play up what i'm already wearing .

my current resolution is to purchase as many accessories i can, and then to actually wear them . a hard feat, but i think it can be done .

the last song (you spin my head right round right round) is only there because it was playing while the credits rolled at the end of the ugly truth, a movie definitely worth seeing . 1) yes i saw it on opening night and the lineup was insane and i was therefore afraid that the film itself wouldn't live up to all the hype but 2) it was actually laugh-out-loud funny, and the fact that the theatre was completely full for the viewing just added to the comedic ambiance . butler and heigl had amazing chemistry; the jokes were the perfect combination of crude and cute; and the sexual innuendoes were just easy enough to spot . conclusion : i definitely recommend it to all my readers !

once again, riccardo tisci did not dissappoint.
remember the petals strewn all over givenchy's spring 09 runway ? and the nude palette that abounded, putting emphasis on the designer's perfected structure and shape tactics ? this time around, the gowns were just as exquisite, though more uniquely appealing - each piece looks like it could be its own collection, not necessarely an integrative part of the whole show - keeping with the intrigue and anticipation that is far too often a rarity when it comes to fashion week shows .
sarah mower of style.com stated in her runway review : "if tisci's thought process sometimes lacks coherence, he is still a designer bringing a much-needed sense of modernity to an old tradition" .

ten places i need to visit before i die ♥ .
1. melbourne, australia : the melbourne aquarium - a two-million litre tank full of exotic fish - , greek cafes and shops in the little greece neighborhood, plays at the princess theatre and then a walk across the street to parliament gardens . not to mention the shopping bliss at queen victoria market .
2. st tropez, france : witnessing the regatta, scoping out the matisse at the musee de l'annonciade, soaking up the rays off the coast of the pampelonne a la brigitte bardot and dining at midnight at cafes off the shore .
3. edinburgh, scotland : namely being present for their hogmanay celebration, a street party lasting days on end filled with concerts and fireworks, leading up to new year's eve . also, visiting the underground city - the edinburgh vaults - and watching a football match (either the hearts of the hibs) .
4. miami, florida : staying at the city's biggest skyscraper (the four season's hotel & tower) and riding a bicycle in what was ranked america's cleanest city (forbes, 2008) . the nightlife just so happens to sound pretty exceptional aswell .
5. belfast, ireland : the perfect countryside setting to revisit my roots (i'm part irish), but not completely isolated due to its amplifying city life . also, and this is a little fantasy of mine, i'd love to experience something like cameron diaz in the holiday .
6. lyon and paris, france : paris fashion week, tour de france, the french open . as for lyon, it's said to be the culinary capital of france, so where better to dine on french cuisine ? also, l'opera national de lyon, and possibly watching a classic french film in the city from which hail the lumiere brothers, the first filmmakers ever .
7. copenhagen : the happiest city in the world . nuff said .
8. the republic of the maldives : fresh seafood, diving to the depths of a clear blue ocean, visiting the coral reef, the perfect place to play robinson crusoe .
9. ibiza, spain : preferably before i turn 25 . after all, it's the summer party capital of the world . note : staying in formentera - ibiza's low-key neighbour - for the beach and then taking the ferry over to ibiza now & then would be a more relaxing option .
10. vancouver, british columbia : i'd kill to be there next february (the winter olympics, of course), but really, anytime would kick ass . i love my country .

sunset blvd, the bustling boardwalks at huntington beach on the day of the 08 surf open, an extensive selection of haute-gamme boutiques filled with apparel nowhere near my price range, then momentarily ducking into a secluded thrift shop and emerging victorious with a gem in hand, pretty abercrombie & fitch type boys roaming around all the stereotypical locations - at the mall, the movie theatre, the soccer field and the ice cream parlour, in-n-out burgers, being extremely tanned, browsing through eclectic hat shops and most importantly, listening to ryan seacrest everyday on the radio .

rob brown, harlem-born actor, recently playing in the flick stop-loss with ryan philippe, about a soldier returning from iraq and the struggles he faces .
michael angarano, with most likely the longest filmography of them all, started out on snl as david duchovny's son, with stints as a young william in almost famous, a skaterboii in lords of dogtown, and one of the leads in snow angels (amongst many others) . at the moment, he's commonly known as the twilight chick's boyfriend .
summer bishil is the newest on the scene, possibly recognized for playing in the film crossing over with across the universe's jim sturgess .
