10 hours in montreal, 09 ♥
the day began bright and early, as i awoke from bed, still drowsy and fatigued, at 7am. preparations ensued - i slipped a buttondown over my shoulders and rimmed my eyes with a kohl pencil - then i embarked towards my first destination, ottawa, where i was to be dropped off to then set out towards monteal.
we arrived around 11am, our little hearts jumpy with excitement at the sight of the bright orange urban outfitters logo, the lovely large space taken up by american apparel and of course, my favourite forever: h&m.
after a bit of shopping in the morning, we had lunch at a chic little resto (which was actually a nightclub after sunset), where we dined on spinach salads, homemade burgers and ham + gouda + red onion sandwiches. we stuck around there for a while, even after having finished our meals, as we sat back and refueled. from the window to our right, we caught a glimpse of the plush snowflakes floating in the air, coating the streets in a thick layer of white. the weather outside made it even more appropriate for us to take our time indoors, before braving the cold temperatures to browse nearby boutiques.
at the end of the day, we stopped for tea & hot chocolate at a local cafe, which was preparing for a night of blues-inspired music while we sat and watched. the bustle around us only perfected the atmosphere, keeping with the abundance of energy that was generally present in le vieux montréal, a place i've known my whole life. yet, everytime i return, i discover new things to love, again and again.
i went for black & white themed photographs, just because.
the last two are of one of my purchases - a terrific shearling moto jacket, warm & snuggly, and on clearance at h&m, to boot ! i also purchased a lace overlay audrey-hepburn-esque dress from h&m for an upcoming wedding i'm attending.
as for good winter boots ... i'm still looking.
happy friday ♥

ReplyDeleteHi Zoe! :)
ReplyDeleteOkay, firstly, Kings of Leon are the BEST! Arrested Development is my favorite show of ALL time (I own seasons 1-3 and am SO excited for the film to come out...except for that Michael Cera supposedly isn't in it? Wha???) And I prefer black and white photos over color photos any day. Montreal looks so sweet. I've never been there before but I've got a couple friends that are going to school there (one at McGill, one at Concordia?) I'll have to get up there some time and check it out.
In the meantime-love your blog-want to exchange links? :)
Love, Mavvie
